Setback for France. In today`s opening match against Brazil in the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy one player will be missed: Timothey N`Guessan who plays on club level for FC Barcelona.

Didier Dinart announced in a press conference, that France will start with only fifteen players into the World Cup. "It is not a severe jury, just an inflammation at the heel", described the French coach the injury of Timothey N`Guessan of FC Barcelona.

"Guillaume and I made the decision to nominate only fifteen players for the opening match against Brazil", Didier Dinart reports after the discussion with second coach Guillaume Gille. "We will have the chance to nominate an additional player and did not have to use a joker so early in the competition", Dinart and France took the safe way.

After the opening match France will face the teams of Japan, Norway, Russia and Poland in the fight for one of the four tickets to the next round. France is host and defending champion, and one of the big favourites at this World Cup.
